Video: TUSC National Election Agent Clive Heemskerk introduces the debate at the September 26th TUSC conference on TUSC’s core policies for the 2016 local elections, and outlines the vital role TUSC can play, building on Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour leadership victory, in helping to organise the resistance to the new round of local council cuts that are coming.
With this headline shown above, the despicable Sun newspaper attacked Jon Lansman's personal decision to debate with former Militant tendency leader Peter Taaffe on the way forward for the Labour Party, as Jeremy Corbny's leadership comes under constant attack. The anti-working class Sun, infamous for its dirty smears on the people of Liverpool after the tragic Hillsborough disaster, said:

"Hard-left activist Jon Lansman, who heads the Momentum campaign to harness Mr Corbyn’s army of supporters, will join entryist veterans of the 1970s and 1980s at the Socialism 2015 event.

"He will share a platform with Socialist Party general secretary Peter Taaffe – a former Militant board member who was expelled from Labour – to discuss fighting austerity.

"MODERATES BEWARE

"Trotskyist ex-MP Dave Nellist, who was booted out of Labour in 1991, leading Liverpool Militant figure Tony Mulhearn and Militant supporter Hannah Sell will also appear."

What is 'moderate' about the austerity policies the Labour moderates support - some even abstaining in the vote against the vicious family Tax credits legislation - the Sun does not make clear.

Unfortunately Jon felt that under pressure from the media attack he had to pull out of the debate, in the event organised by the Socialist Party which will take place this weekend without him, unless he can be persuaded to change his mind.

The Socialist Party's attitude towards the Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn is made clear by the next video below.

Socialism 2015
Video: 100,000 people and thousands of pig-themed objects marched through Manchester on Sunday 4 October to demonstrate against Tory party conference. Inspired by left winger Jeremy Corbyn's Labour leadership victory, big numbers arrived for their first ever protest. In this video the Socialist Party's deputy leader Hannah Sell explains how the Socialist Party see's its role in the developing situation.
Caption: snapshot of graphic from leading article in the Independent newspaper 5/11/15, announcing 'Moderates seized control of the PLP’s 17 committees which shadow government departments when MPs elected their chairmen on 4 November... dubbed the “shadow Shadow Cabinet” and the “leadership in exile.".'

The Get Corbyn plot and how to combat it

There are formidable forces mobilising to unseat Jeremy Corbyn, argues Clive Heemskerk, TUSC national agent, and the likelihood that the outcome of that struggle will pose the need for a new party must be discussed.

Inherent in a revolution is the prospect of counter-revolution developing in its aftermath, as the forces of the old order test out the possibilities of regaining power. And the blow at the capitalist establishment that was Jeremy Corbyn's leadership insurgency is no different. A systematic campaign is under way to restore what can be salvaged of the status quo ante by the pro-capitalist forces - 'establishment Labour' - which still dominate the Parliamentary Labour Party (PLP), council Labour Groups, and the Labour Party officialdom, both nationally and, in most cases, locally too.

Victory in the USA for first Socialist on Seattle city council in 100 years
"Not only can socialists get elected, we can get re-elected. Voters in Seattle’s District 3 have chosen Kshama Sawant to serve another four years on the City Council. Since late votes tend to trend in our favor, we can safely claim victory" - writes Socialist Alternative in the USA, of their candidate.
